There are 3 ways to check your SRD balance status. Let’s start with the easiest one.

1) Check SASSA R370 Balance On Bank Mobile Application:

The method to check the balance of the SRD grant with the bank mobile app is one of the simplest, easiest, and quickest. You only need your smartphone, active internet WiFi or airtime, and my footprints, that’s all you need.

  1. Open your mobile banking app on your phone, where you received your SRD grant payment.
  2. Now log in to your bank account with your username and password.
  3. Go to the account statement.
  4. Check all the deductions and credits.
  5. Your overall balance will be shown there.

2) Dial SASSA Balance Status Check USSD Code:

If you are out of airtime and need to check your balance status then SASSA has covered you. Here are the steps:

  1. Dial *120*3210# from your cellphone and press the “Call” button.
  2. Now you will see a menu open on your cellphone’s screen. You will see different options there. Each option will have a number and you need to reply with that number to get more information related to that option.
  3. For SRD grant balance, the number will be 5 so reply with 5.
  4. Now another menu will appear on your screen where you need to choose “ID Number” on option 3 and send it.
  5. You will be asked to enter your 13-digit ID number and then press the send button.
  6. SASSA will send an SMS to you with your grant balance status.

3) Check Your SRD Grant Balance at ATM:

You can also check your SRD R370 grant balance at any ATM where your bank card is accepted. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the nearest ATM of your bank.
  2. Insert your bank card and enter your PIN.
  3. Choose the “Balance Enquiry” option from the menu.
  4. Your account balance will be displayed on the screen.

You can also choose to print a mini statement to see recent transactions, including your SRD grant deposit.

How to Buy Something with Your SASSA Balance on the Black Card?

The SASSA Black Card works like a regular debit card. You can use it to buy groceries, pay for services, or shop online. Here’s how to use your SASSA balance safely and easily.

Use at Shops and Supermarkets:

Go to a shop or supermarket that accepts debit card payments. At the checkout, give your Black Card to the cashier. 

They will swipe or insert it into the card machine. Enter your PIN when prompted. The purchase amount will be deducted from your SASSA balance instantly. Always check the receipt to confirm the amount deducted.

Online Shopping:

You can also use your Black Card to shop online where debit cards are accepted. Enter your card number, expiry date, and CVV code during checkout. Make sure your account has enough balance to cover the payment. Always shop from trusted websites to avoid scams.

ATMs and Cash Withdrawals:

You can withdraw cash from your SASSA Black Card at an ATM. Insert your card, enter your PIN, and select “Withdrawal.” You can then use this cash to buy items anywhere cash is accepted.
