SASSA Banking Details Verification

Using a bank account like Postbank to get the SASSA payment is a wise decision. For this purpose, you need to have an active bank account registered in your name. The bank account grant payment deposit saves your time when you need to withdraw your money.

However, you need to add your banking details during the SASSA SRD grant application process. If you haven’t added your bank account information, then your SASSA status must be showing as “Bank details pending”.

Here you will get complete details on how to add your banking details and verify them as well.

SASSA Banking Details Verification

SASSA banking details verification is a process that checks your bank account information. It starts when you add your banking details during the SRD grant application. SASSA sends these details for checking. The system confirms that the bank account belongs to you. It also checks that the account is active and valid.

This step helps stop fraud. It makes sure the grant goes to the right person. If the account is not in your name, SASSA will not approve it. Your status may show “Bank details pending” during this time.

In 2026, this rule are very strict. Your bank account must be registered in your own name. You need this to receive the R370 SRD payment. Once SASSA verifies your details, they release the payment directly to your bank account.

What is the Best Bank to Use for the SRD R370 Grant?

If you are thinking which bank is the best to use for SRD R370 payments, then my suggestion is to use TymeBank. Here are the reasons:

1) GrantAdvance

You can use the GrantAdvance feature of TymeBank, which allows you to get up to R1000 as an advance from the bank, and you can return it on your next SASSA grant payment.

2) No Monthly Fee

You will not be charged any rand when using this bank. Use the bank for free without paying any additional charges every month, like debit card fees or checkbook charges, etc.

3) Easy Digital Account Opening

TymeBank lets you open an account fully online. You do not need to visit a branch. The process is fast and simple. You can open the account using your ID and phone number. Once approved, your account becomes active quickly. This helps you add banking details to SASSA without delay.

What is the SASSA Bank Details Pending?

When your SASSA SRD grant status shows “Bank details pending”, it means your bank account information has not been added yet. SASSA cannot pay the R370 grant without your banking details. This status is common for new applicants or those who have not updated their bank information.

Until your bank account is added and verified, your SRD payment cannot be processed. If your status shows “Bank details pending,” log in to srd.sassa.gov.za. Add your bank account details carefully. Double-check your account number, IBAN, SWIFT code, and full legal name.

After submitting, SASSA will verify the details. Once approved, the status will change, and your R370 payment will be deposited directly into your bank account.
